Pub Hub

What’s a Pub Hub?

Pub Hubs are relaxed, informal gatherings held in local pubs — a place where Freemasons and curious guests can meet face-to-face without any ceremony, protocol, or pressure. There’s no regalia, no formalities, and no speeches. Just a warm welcome, an open chair, and good conversation over a pint or a plate of curry.

Why Do They Exist?

Masonry can seem mysterious from the outside, but Pub Hubs change that. They’re designed to demystify Freemasonry and show that behind the traditions are real people — professionals, tradesmen, retirees, all with stories to tell. Whether you’re a lifelong Mason or someone who’s simply curious, Pub Hubs are a place to ask questions, share experiences, and have a proper chat in good company.

Everyone’s welcome. Masons from any lodge, friends of the lodge, and especially interested guests who want to learn more about Freemasonry. It’s a chance for potential candidates to meet members in a no-pressure setting, get a feel for the fraternity, and see whether it’s a fit for them. Bring a mate, bring your questions — and bring your appetite.

What Happens at a Pub Hub?

Simple:

  • Turn up.
  • Grab a drink.
  • Say hello.
  • Stay for the curry.
  • Leave with new mates — or maybe your first step toward joining a lodge.

There’s no formality, no cost (except what you eat and drink), and no expectations. Just a relaxed evening that proves Freemasonry is as much about friendship as it is tradition.

Pudbrook Lodge members host the evening and make sure there’s always someone to welcome new faces, introduce guests, and answer any questions. We’ll often book a table or a side room depending on numbers — and we keep things easy-going. If you’re a visiting Mason, we’d love to see you. If you’re just curious, this is the perfect first step.
